New Business Advisor at SBDC

July 7, 2022 - Please let’s welcome the new member of the Small Business Development Center at UNM-Gallup: Amalio Madueño.
Amalio will be the SBDC Business Advisor, providing technical assistance on finance, management and planning to people with existing businesses, people with new business ideas and those considering going into business. He’ll be responsible for assisting Director Cyndi Jarvison with ongoing SBDC programs and development of new programming.
Amalio has a BA in English from University of San Diego, postgraduate degrees in poetry as well as history/social theory from the University of California, Irvine, where he twice held Regents fellowships.
Amalio is a certified entrepreneurship trainer and business advisor. Prior to his employment with SBDC, Amalio has delivered business advisory assistance at three SBDC offices in New Mexico, assisting more than 1,000 small businesses in New Mexico with business plans, bank loan applications, financial management, marketing, and new product development. He has also assisted local governments, Tribes, schools, colleges and nonprofit organizations with strategic planning, grant writing/fundraising, feasibility analysis, legislative proposals and evaluations. He has experience assisting clients with federal, state and bank proposals in the areas of workforce development, health, education, agriculture, transportation, renewable energy and housing. He has held contracts with several corporate & institutional intermediaries that subsidize his services to the community.
Apart from work, Amalio enjoys Golf and community service. We are excited and honored to have Amalio onboard. We believe Amalio will be a valuable asset for SBDC at UNM-Gallup.
